About the Museum

Founded in 2019 by Denver creative Charlie Billingsley, the Museum for Black Girls began as a one-night birthday installation created to celebrate the beauty, softness, resilience, and brilliance of Black women and girls. What was meant to last one evening quickly became something much bigger — a movement, a gathering place, and eventually a permanent home.

Today, the museum is an immersive, photo-forward experience designed to celebrate Black girlhood in all its forms. From nostalgic beauty shop memories and kitchen-table conversations to floral dreamscapes and powerful moments in history, every room is created to make you feel seen, celebrated, and connected.

Step inside our signature pink walls, wander through our heritage timeline, explore immersive installations, and experience a space rooted in joy, storytelling, creativity, and community. Whether you're visiting for the perfect photo, a moment of reflection, a private event, or inspiration, the Museum for Black Girls invites everyone — of every background, age, and identity — to celebrate the magic of Black women and girls.

More than a museum, this is a love letter. A place to remember where we come from, honor who we are, and imagine what's possible.
